MT Kenya

Wild Path offers a unique experience to climb the second highest mountain on the African continent. This journey offers a great and immersive experience both climbing the mountain via one of many routes to the top either on the trekking peak Lenana or the main summits of Batian and Neilion which involve technical climbing.

Dan knows the area well with ten years in Kenya guiding and working and is able to take you beyond the mountain trekking in the wild north to warm up and also to experience Kenya through the eyes of those on the ground.

We ascend Mt Kenya via the Chogoria route. This is the most scenic of the routes and takes us up through lush forests into high moorland, passing stunning lakes and tarn. Gaining more height, we then hit the high alpine terrain, which would not look out of place in Chamonix.

With our ascent of Mt Kenya made, with a stunning sunrise summit, we descend via the Sirimon route past the Shipton caves.

We have a variety of safari options before heading to the capital to return home.

We allow six days for an ascent of the mountain. Add on a couple of days for safari and a couple of travel days, making this a ten day adventure.
