Kenya
Mount Kenya is Africa's second highest mountain, offering trekkers and climbers a great challenge, that is blissfully devoid of the crowds of Mount Kilimanjaro. A wonderful experience from the wildlife rich forests, low down, through to truly alpine upper reaches and flora and fauna that is unique to Mount Kenya. We work alongside Rift Valley Adventures, who have had over twenty years of adventure experience and are the leading provider of adventure training to the British Army in East Africa. Dan leads the trek on the mountain and has many years of experience having both lived and worked in East Africa and relishes any opportunity to be back in Kenya!
Wild Path combines it's Mount Kenya experience with some "out of the ordinary" experiences, such as a multi-day bike expeditions through wildlife rich African terrain, an ascent of the Masai tribes' holy mountain, Ololokwe, as well as offering the thrilling chance to see the classic "Big Five". We offer the three journeys listed below but we able to tailor make to your requirements and dates. Courses run year round.
Mt Kenya
We ascend Mt Kenya via the Chogoria route. This is the most scenic of the routes and takes us up through lush forests into high moorland, passing stunning lakes and tarn. Gaining more height, we then hit the high alpine terrain, which would not look out of place in Chamonix.

With our ascent of Mt Kenya made, with a stunning sunrise summit, we descend via the Sirimon route past the Shipton caves.
We have a variety of safari options before heading to the capital to return home.

We allow six days for an ascent of the mountain. Add on a couple of days for safari and a couple of travel days, making this a ten day adventure.

We descend from here to spend two days in the iconic Samburu National Park, spotting the famous Big Five animals.

We continue gaining altitude to make our ascent of Mt Kenya, before returning to the capital for a final night in Nairobi; a buzzing and eclectic city, with a variety of things to do and of course, to enjoy a well earned traditional Nyama Choma (bbq meal)!
