Scottish Winter mountaineering skills guided munro’s
As the winter starts to get going its time to think about providing and delivering some courses. Winter skills courses are the starting point and one of the most important courses you can undertake when transferring from winter to summer. The hazards and dangers change considerably. We are happy to be able to off these courses in the Highlands based in the Cairngorms, North West, and Lochaber. Covering the core skills to get you up to a standard where you can begin to start your winter journeys independently is our priority and will hopefully start you on your way too enjoying some of the finest winter mountains on offer.
These skills also transfer to other mountain ranges such as trekking peaks and Alpine mountaineering. Essentially where there is snow and ice winter skills are an essential skill.
We also offer guided days equipping you with the skills to suit a quality mountain day, be that scaling the UK’s highest mountain or an obscure and remote munro in the Northwest. Scotland offers some wonderful experiences and we are happy to take you on those journeys with experienced knowledge and the correct equipment (we can provide axe, crampons and helmet with the clothing being exempt) We have a comprehensive kit list and are always on the phone to help answer and questions.
All our courses are tailor-made which suits your time and availability. In order to reduce the risk of Covid transmission courses are not open and have a maximum of five participants who know each other. As things change with regard to Covid we shall update according to government guidelines.
We are also offering a Mt Kenya Expedition in November in conjunction with the Eden House project which Jo and I shall be leading. This will be an open trip so if your keen on ticking Africas second highest and best mountain then get in touch for a quote.
We have a comprehensive policy regarding our covid protocols. These can be found here. We make sure that prior to any course that a lateral flow test is taken by the instructor to ensure your safety while on the course. All participants are required to have both vaccinations which can be shown through the NHS app. All instructors are both double vaccinated and boosted. All precautions are taken and of course we are working out in the open where social distancing is more than possible.
We take great pride in what we deliver and hope that we see you through 2022 on a range of courses and expeditions. so just get in touch through the contact page
